Participating Population: 20,608 people

  • Children under 5 years of age: 1,706 boys and 1,791 girls
  • Children between 5 and 17 years of age: 4,303 boys and 4,195 girls
  • Adults between 18 and 50 years old: 3,172 men and 3,515 women.
  • Over 50 years of age: 994 men and 932 women.

Project Description

The general objective of the DIPECHO 2016-2017 project is to reduce institutional, educational and social vulnerabilities in order to improve resilience to multi-hazard scenarios in the communities of San Pedro Jocopilas and San Bartolomé Jocotenango in the department of Quiché, through specific training and capacity building actions. As well as processes of organization of emergency response coordinators (local and municipal), directly linked to CONRED’s tiered system. Also intervening in the strengthening and protection of livelihoods.
