Nurturing the Future supports thousands of boys and girls going back to school

We launched the campaign “Back to School with Cargill”, which will support over 6 thousand 500 students across 23 schools in Chimaltenango and Guatemala, who are participants of the Nurturing the Future Project, implemented as a joint effort between CARE and Cargill.

During the months of March and April, each girl and boy will receive school supplies and a hygiene kit, to stay protected when returning to school after the COVID-19 pandemic. The delivery of these kits will be complemented with activities that promote healthy habits throughout the school year.

The Nurturing the Future project seeks to strengthen the knowledge and skills on issues related to food and nutrition, gender, hygiene, and the empowerment of teachers, who serve as intermediaries, to maximize their impact with boys and girls in school-age, as well as their fathers, mothers, and academic authorities.

At CARE, we believe that the comprehensive education of children is vital when fighting poverty and inequality.
